The top half had something similar with the cockpits so it actually made the mirrored section design better than worse. I still came short a bit so instead of mixing different colors of plate I added the inverted roof tiles as a kind of extension. It would be harder for the bottom section to cover the same area so reducing it a little so I could fit the available plates better was a natural choice. The other reason was that I was foreseeing a lack of plates as I had used up three layers on the top section. This is the reason why I gave it a bit more of a top curve. I did need to make some amends as there aren't the same number of parts for the bottom. The approach for the bottom section was that it should look as similar possible as the top section. I was not sure yet how many layers I would do but it became quickly clear two were best because else it would just be too flat. I began with the top section which would be more dominant and would possibly require more effort. I made two pair and set aside a number of parts which would go to either section. The best way forward was using the large yellow plates. First I needed a floor plan that would decide the overall shape. That idea would not hold up entirely, but it would get me started. I would pretend a little that I had a ball and cut that horizontally. To make this happen I needed a bit more planning in advance and to decide on which parts to use on which section which would allow me to keep both halves consistent. After the Submarine Gamma 02, which was basically two different submersibles connected to the big engine, I intended to make a version in which the two section were as much consistent with each other as possible so that the whole model would look more like a coherent design.
