I should have read reviews prior to trying NU out. Hence, I booked a car with Avis back at the Sky Harbor Airport rental car center from the NU car rental lobby, had to wait on the shuttle to return my son and I back to pick up an Avis rental car. When I reluctantly agreed, then I was told no cars were available at all. Next, was the offer to upgrade to another car. The next excuse was that it was not prepaid (which was not a requirement when I booked). They claimed I was more than 2 hours beyond my rental time (3:30 pm local time) but I was standing there talking to the representative at 5:10pm (clearly within the 2 hours). After taking a long time for the shuttle to pick up from the Rental Car Center, I found out NU car did not honor my reservation (with a confirmation number in hand). I booked a reservation ahead in Phoenix, AZ. This was a terrible experience!! One and done: never again! However, I heard two others groups who were returning vehicles at the same time complaining of the state of their cars, so I can only assume we were lucky in that regard. The only good thing about the experience was that the car we received was in good shape. I got in touch with them and described how I was misled by their agent, but they refused to return my fuel deposit. So when I returned the car with most of a full tank, I was still charged as if I had returned it completely empty. 1805 E Sky Harbor Cir S,Phoenix, AZ 85034. I thought this was a nice convenience to have, but sadly I did not realize and was not told that the pre-paid fuel scheme was a fixed fee that covered refilling the entire gas tank. This fuel scheme was described to me by the agent in that I could drop off the car without re-filling the gas and I would be charged to refill the tank at a fuel rate close to the market rate. As well, I unfortunately allowed myself to get talked into a pre-paid fuel scheme. Overall, the extra fees were approximately USD$160 which is almost equal to what I had already paid on Expedia. When I picked up the car I was unhappy to learn there were a number of hidden fees that my payment on Expedia had not in fact covered. Routes leading in and around the city are easy to drive. Car rental in Phoenix gives you the chance to take in all this popular city, and the surrounding region, have to offer. I was very happy with the price and the text I could see on Expedia said that this price included all fees (although I'm sure there was small text to the contrary somewhere else). Phoenix - Hilton Phoenix Airport - Hotel Guests Only. I booked a car rental with NU car through Expedia about a month in advance of a trip to Phoenix. I would not recommend anyone to use their services. TL DR Renting with NU car was much more expensive than planned due to their misleading description of options, numerous hidden fees, and aggressive up-selling.
